CODING COMPETITION

I am looking for children who think they’ve got what it takes to be in the Young Coders Crew 2024...
Never coded? No problem. Don’t know what coding is? Also, no problem!
All you need is determination, perseverance and some teammates to be in your crew! Your game needs to be completed by 28th June 2024. Remember: the theme is Space and Time.

On this webpage, you will find all of the lessons for the competition (below) as we discussed in assembly. Each week I will upload a new lesson to this webpage, this is for you to complete at home. There are also instructions for logging in, what to do if there are any issues when logging in and details on when the lunchtime club will start.

Getting started:
To get started, you will need to access https://scratch.mit.edu/. This can be done on any device, please do not download the app for it though as it may not work.
Once there, go to sign in. You will need your username ( TTRS username followed by the number 24) and the password (IbstockJuniorS). When you first login you will be prompted to create your own password - make sure it is a strong one!

Troubleshooting
If you try to login and it doesn't work, please ensure you know your TTRS username because without it, you will not login in. Come and see me at lunchtime on any day if you are struggling to get in from home. Some usernames have already been used by other coders, so we may need to check your details.

Working in school
After the half-term break, you will be invited to come into my classroom at lunchtime on a Tuesday to work on your game. Please note, at this point you should have a good understanding on how to use Scratch and have an established plan for your game ( you must be ready to code).

Finally, all games must be completed and ready to be judged by 28th June 2024.

If you have any questions, please post them to the form below. I will try to reply to them as soon as possible. Please be aware though, I will not be able to answer coding questions in general, only questions about logging in, the competition or the lunchtime club.
