At Ibstock Junior School, we follow a programme called everyone’s welcome. Everyone’s welcome is a whole school approach that teaches children about equality and diversity in line with the Equality Act, British Values and the Ofsted framework. The programme uses age appropriate picture books, lesson plans and assemblies to promote our ethos of inclusion, tolerance and prepare children for life in modern Britain. Our ultimate aim is to ensure that all children feel represented and that they belong at our school.
As a school where everyone is welcome, we believe all children should feel safe. We want children to know what they need to do and who can help them if they feel worried about unkind behaviour. This could be behaviour they have experienced themselves, or observed towards other children. Our children's version of Ibstock Juniors School's Bullying Prevention Policy has been created alongside the children and parents to offer clear messages on how to identify what is and isn't bullying behaviour, where to seek support, and what to expect from our school in dealing with any bullying behaviour.
