Welcome Message

Welcome to our school. I hope you like the drone footage which I believe captures more of what the school is about. Ibstock village has changed a lot over the last five years and the school has too; driving or walking past the school shows little of what we have to offer. The school is 50 percent larger than when I first started here and we now have an additional state of the art learning environment which complements our existing turn of the century school.

The curriculum on offer to the children is now broader too and we offer an exciting array of topics for children to learn about, whilst always maintaining high academic standards. A look at government performance tables shows that children at our school are ahead of the national averages at both age related and greater depth standards. Every child is important to us. Our staff work tirelessly to engage and challenge every pupil, and ensure they are safe and settled at school. We also now have a Forest School which has gained national exposure and ensures all children experience outdoor learning during their time with us.

We also like to add a range of exciting and resilience-building activities to the curriculum. Children have the opportunity to attend a residential trip in Year 4 and Year 6 as well as trips to national and local places of interest. Each year, every child in the school has the opportunity to perform on stage to their parents and peers, which we believe helps to build self-confidence in addition to being fun.

Ibstock Junior School has also built a reputation for supporting other schools and regularly supplies support to schools across the county. We support schools by giving teachers and other school leaders guidance on reading, writing, knowledge acquisition, training newly qualified teachers and improving outcomes for disadvantaged children. Furthermore, we have also given and continue to give headship and leadership support to local schools in difficulty, demonstrating the school’s values of Achieve Collaborate Enjoy.
