Relationships and Sex Education

At Ibstock Junior school, we want our Relationships and Sex Education  (RSE)  policy to help children enjoy positive relationships (now and in the future), be prepared for changes they will experience and stay safe in a modern world. By including the non-statutory content of Sex and Reproduction in Year 6 , we are empowering our children with knowledge of the age of consent, the importance of being ready to start a family , as well as equipping them with the scientific understanding they will need at secondary school   We recognise our role in supporting parents/carers as the main educators of their children in this important area of learning and we want our parents/carers to feel supported by the input children receive at school. You can learn more about our approach to the teaching and learning within RSE, in our policy below.
