Isolation Guidance
Government guidance on testing and isolation has now changed. Use the below infographic to guide you:
An example:
- Child A & Child B (different households) have symptoms on Wednesday 19th Jan & LFT is positive. This is day 0. Isolation begins. Other members of household take daily LFTs but do not isolate.
- On day 5 (Monday 24th Jan) Child A takes a LFT and it is negative. Child B takes a LFT and is negative. Continue to isolate.
- On day 6 (Tuesday 25th Jan) Child A takes a LFT and it is positive. Isolation continues. Child B takes a LFT and it is negative. As they now have two consecutive negative tests and do not have a temperature, Child B is now out of isolation and can return to school on that day.
- On day 7 -10 (Wed 26th - Sat 29th Jan) Child A continues to test negative and positive on different days. Because they don't have two consecutive days of negative LFTs, they are not out of isolation until 23.59 hours on day 10 (Saturday 29th Jan). If they receive two consecutive negative LFTs, they can be released earlier than the 10 days, on the second negative day.
